The Gooner Roundup is an annual gathering of Arsenal supporters from across Texas. This year's Roundup takes place October 9–11 in Port Aransas, Texas, with Gooners from the five Texas Arsenal America chapters and Arsenal supporters from across the country welcome to join us.
If you're an Arsenal supporter, you're part of the Arsenal family. Come hang out, meet fellow Gooners, and have a great weekend.
Yes. Registration is free, but we need an approximate head count so we can plan activities and give restaurants and venues a reasonable idea of how many people to expect.
Registration details will be posted at goonerroundup.com.
There is no registration fee. Everyone is responsible for their own travel, lodging, food, drinks, and other personal expenses.
Some optional activities will have their own costs. The Friday sunset dolphin cruise is expected to cost approximately $40 per person and will have very limited availability. Cruise spots will be first come, first served, with payment made directly to the tour company.
Port Aransas is easily accessible by car. If you're flying in, Corpus Christi International Airport (CRP) is the most convenient airport, and Southwest often has reasonably priced flights there.
Once you're on the island, having a car is convenient, although Uber is also an option. Golf carts are another popular way to get around Port Aransas.
Absolutely. One of the great things about Port Aransas is that you can drive directly onto the beach.
If you park on the beach, you must have a Port Aransas beach parking permit. The current cost is $12 per vehicle, and permits are available at convenience stores and other authorized locations.
Port Aransas has a wide variety of hotels, condos, and vacation rentals. We recommend checking Airbnb and Vrbo for the largest selection.
We're also going to provide a few recommended rental sites where organizers have done business in the past. These are recommendations only and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Gooner Roundup. These are often slightly cheaper directly than going through Airbnb/Vrbo as it'll cut some fees. Of course, the guarantees via Airbnb/Vrbo might be worth an extra few bucks to you - your call.
Another option worth considering is the historic Tarpon Inn, located right in the heart of Port Aransas. It's an old-school Texas hotel with simple, minimalist rooms and plenty of history. Don't expect a television in your room, it's more historic than modern. And is it haunted? Mmmmmmaybe.
We'll post the finalized schedule and any changes at goonerroundup.com and through our social media channels.
Absolutely. The Gooner Roundup is family-friendly, and spouses, partners, and children are welcome.
Port Aransas is a very dog-friendly destination, but individual hotels, vacation rentals, restaurants, and other venues may have their own pet policies. Check with your lodging and individual venues before bringing your dog.
Come anyway. If you're an Arsenal supporter, you're part of the Arsenal family. The whole point of the Gooner Roundup is bringing supporters together from across Texas and beyond.
Casual. Wear Arsenal stuff. Relax. We're at the beach.
Bring your Arsenal shirts, comfortable clothes, beachwear, sunscreen, and something for cooler or breezier weather.
Beach essentials are strongly recommended:
Port Aransas can be breezy, so make sure tents, shades, and other loose items are securely anchored.
TBD — but hopefully! We've already designed a Gooner Roundup logo, and we're looking into merchandise options. We'll post details when they're available.
Keep an eye on goonerroundup.com and our social media channels. We'll post registration information, schedule updates, merchandise details, and any other important announcements there.
Come on you Gunners.
